DREAMHUNTER

| The ensemble Dream Hunter
originated at the University of Miami jazz program. From 1994-1996, saxophonist Gottfried Stoger and vibraphonist Errol Rackipov were teaching assistants at the University of Miami. During the same period, drummer Matthew Hankle was a student of that program. The three musicians were part of the "ECM" school ensemble and worked on different ideas while performing on and off campus. Dream Hunter's diverse music is a result of the collaboration of composers Gottfried Stoger and Errol Rackipov In August 1996 Gottfried Stoger moved to New York and decided to introduce Dream Hunter to the international scene. He brought bassists Peter Herbert, Ratzo B. Harris, and Mark Egan, and percussionists Robert Kainar and Gilad Dobrecky on board for various Dream Hunter performances. Important concerts in New York have included a concert series at the Guggenheim Museum as part of the World Beat Jazz Series and a concert at the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum, hosted by the National Geographic Society. Dream Hunter also performs at various clubs in New York. In April/May 1998 an May 2001 Dream Hunter had very successful European tours. They performed in Bosnia, Croatia and Austria. The C.D. "Pleasures" was recorded in Salzburg, Austria at the end of the first tour. |
